Early childhood education is vital for instilling a love of learning and creating a solid foundation for a bright academic future. And this begins with choosing the right child development center. When choosing one, it is important that the staff have a vast experience with children of all ages and have gone through a thorough background screening. There should also be certified teachers on staff to create lesson plans for all ages, which provides for a solid foundation for entering kindergarten. Program philosophy: To promote a positive environment for the physical, emotional and social development of the children and their families, it is designed to provide a successful transition for the child from home to school.

The Academy’s curriculum is built around the “Creative Curriculum for Preschool” by Teaching Strategies which sets program goals and objectives in four development areas:

• Social Emotional Development -- Independence, self-confidence, self control, following rules and routines, collaboration and making friends.
• Physical development -- increase in children’s large muscle skills, balancing, running, jumping, throwing and catching, and small muscle coordination for skills such as buttoning, stringing beads, cutting, drawing and writing.
• Cognitive Development -- thinking skills for application in problem solving exploration, imagining, asking questions, and logical thinking using sorting, classifying, comparing, counting and pattern making skills.
• Language Development — Exploration of the world of language and use of words. To communicate with others, recognition of letters and words, understanding print and beginning writing for a purpose.
